Tata Curvv EV And Tata Nexon EV 45 To Get Lifetime Warranty On Battery Pack Following The 2025 Tata Harrier EV

The lifetime warranty means 15 years from the date the car is first registered with the RTO, as per the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988

For added peace of mind, Tata Motors has recently introduced a lifetime warranty on the battery for the newly launched 2025 Tata Harrier EV. The carmaker will soon offer the same lifetime battery warranty with the Tata Curvv EV and Tata Nexon EV (45 kWh version). It is being offered for unlimited kilometres for the first owner of the EV, just like the Harrier EV.

This new warranty also applies to cars already sold since launch, so even early buyers get the benefit. So without further ado, let’s take a look in detail at the terms and conditions:

More About The Lifetime Warranty

• The Curvv EV and Nexon EV receive a reduced warrant for the second owner, where they have peace of mind for 8 years or 1.6 lakh km. The same for the Harrier EV stands at 10 years or 2 lakh kms, whichever comes first.

• The lifetime warranty can only be availed by private buyers or employees, the latter who get their cars registered under company perk schemes.

• The Tata cars used for commercial purposes like taxis, demo cars, test-drive units, and fleet vehicles do not qualify for the lifetime warranty.

• Only the first registered owner will receive full coverage. If the car changes hands, the second owner must inform through an authorised dealership to receive a reduced warranty.

• For existing owners to avail the lifetime warranty, the vehicle must be serviced at authorised Tata service centres and follow the recommended service schedule.

• The battery must be free from any physical damage or tampering. If it needs repair or replacement, Tata restores its energy capacity to either 80 percent or to the pre-repair state of health, whichever is higher.

• The warranty stays valid for the first 15 years only if the owner meets all the conditions.
