Skoda Octavia Now Available In Ambition Plus Variant
The Ambition Plus trim slots between the Ambition and Style Plus variants
Remember Skoda offering only two trims for Octavia? The Czech Republic-based automaker has now introduced a third variant of its D-segment offering. So, now you can buy the Octavia in the Ambition, Style Plus or the new Ambition Plus trim. . A lot of features from the Style Plus variant can now be had in the Ambition Plus trim. Read on to find out what the Ambition Plus trim offers over the Ambition variant. The Ambition Plus trim offers the same style of alloy wheels as the Style Plus variant. It also gets the Bi-Xenon headlamps with auto-levelling feature, adaptive frontlight system, automatic headlamps, retractable headlight washers and LED DRLs from the Style Plus trim. The Ambition Plus trim has cornering function with front fog lamps and LED tail lamps.
In the safety department, the Ambition Plus gets electronic stability control, multi-collision braking, brake preparation system, parking sensors up front and parktronic display on the infotainment screen. However, there are no side airbags at the back and curtain airbags on the Ambition Plus variant of the Octavia. This variant, unlike Style Plus trim, does not have sunroof, keyless entry, engine start/stop button, electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory function and navigation. Skoda has limited rear windshield screen, memory settings for rear-view mirrors with auto-tilting on reverse gear, baggage hooks and storage net in boot, storage compartment under co-driver's seat and rear spoiler to Style Plus trim of the Octavia. While the Ambition Plus trim gets wood inserts in the dashboard, it misses out on rear-parking camera.
The Ambition Plus trim is available on the Octavia with 1.8 TSI petrol and 2.0TDI diesel engines. While the petrol engine can only be had with a seven-speed DSG gearbox, six-speed manual and six-speed DSG transmissions are offered with this trim when buying the diesel. The Octavia comes with two petrol engines and one diesel engine. The petrol engines are turbocharged and available in two displacement sizes – 1395cc and 1798cc. The 1395cc or 1.4 TSI engine makes 150PS power and 250Nm torque, and is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. The 1798cc or 1.8 TSI engine makes 180PS power and 250Nm torque, and is mated to a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission. The diesel engine displaces 1968cc (2.0 TDI) and generates 143PS power and 320Nm torque. This engine is available with a six-speed manual or six-speed dual-clutch DSG gearbox. The Octavia 1.8 TSI is not just the most powerful model but is the only one to be equipped with a sophisticated multi-link rear suspension. Below are the prices of the various variants of Octavia:
