Skoda Kushaq, Slavia And Kylaq Recalled Once Again Due To Faulty Seatbelts

Previously, the Czech carmaker announced a recall for all three cars back in April 2025 regarding concerns about rear seatbelts

The Skoda Kylaq, Skoda Kushaq and Skoda Slavia are once again in the spotlight due to a recall announcement regarding its seatbelts. Around 860 units of all the three vehicles that are manufactured between December 2021 and May 2025 have been affected. Notably, this is not the first time the Czech carmaker has announced a recall for these cars as they have been called back previously in April 2025 for a similar reason. 

More Details About The Recall 

While the previous recall was regarding concerns over the rear seat belt, this time around, the front seat belts would also need inspection. According to data from Society Of Indian Automotive Manufacturers (SIAM), there are quality concerns about the rear seatbelt assembly, where the metal base could frame and crack. Also, after quality inspections, there are possibilities that the front and rear seatbelts could have been installed incorrectly. 

What Should Owners Do? 

While an official announcement is yet to be rolled out, we expect Skoda to contact affected owners and have the vehicles inspected. Post that, if the part needs to be replaced, it would be done at no additional cost. We would advise owners to have their vehicles inspected at the earliest, considering that this is a safety hazard.

The Skoda Kylaq goes up against the Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza and Mahindra XUV 3XO. Meanwhile, the Skoda Slavia rivals the Honda City, Hyundai Verna and VW Virtus. The Skoda Kushaq, on the other hand, locks horns with compact SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos and Honda Elevate.
