    New Maruti Swift coming in 2011

    The all new Maruti Swift was spotted testing on roads. The car will be hitting the Indian auto market in 2011. The new Maruti Swift which is coming with new added features to compete with the likes of Ford Figo, Volkswagen Polo, Chevrolet Beat, Nissan Micra and soon to be launched (in April 2011), Toyota Etios Liva. The new version of the hatchback from the Indian auto giant has been coded as YP8.

    The hatchback already nears the perfection definition which has been stamped by the shooting sales graph of the existing models from company and with the backing of the Maruti Suzuki, the car is sure to become the center of attraction. There do not not seem much difference between the the existing Swift and the new Maruti Swift. The interiors of the hatchback were well covered which has left the car admirers in speculations about the cars looks. But as per the information available, the new Maruti Swift has a larger wheel base which will make it more spacious. As per the speculations, the new version of Maruti Swift will be powered with the latest K12 1.2 litre engine which is also loaded in the present car model and also in another hatchback from the company, Maruti Ritz. The engine for diesel version will be outsourced from Fiat. The diesel version of Maruti Swift can be affixed with 1.3 litre Multijet diesel engine.

    Currently Maruti Swift is available in petrol and diesel version with a price range of Rs 4,05,341 to Rs 5,39,928 (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The hatchback offers excellent fuel economy and better mileage and is loaded with extensive features. Maruti India is surely the market leader as from two continuous months, the company has recorded a sale of more than one lakh units in the domestic auto market. Maruti has everything, right from hatchback to sedans to MUVs in the Indian market. Maruti has again captured the hatchback market with its winning car models in this segment. The company had a total sale of 76,505 units in the hatchback segment in the last month. 2,440 Maruti 800 were sold, Maruti Alto, the flagship model was the highest with 32,377 units, Maruti Zen Estilo with 4,439 units, Maruti Wagon R with 15,617 units, Maruti Swift with 12,198 units, Maruti A-Star with 3,055 units and Maruti Ritz with 6,377 units.
