Customers don't need to worry as Maruti dealers would call the affected vehicle owners. The inspection would not take much time and if any fault is evident in the door latch, it would be replaced at no extra cost. Furthermore, owners can visit company's official website (marutisuzuki.com) directly and check whether their car is listed in the affected cars or not. While verfiying through website, they would only require the 14 digit alpha-numeric chassis number to be filled. They can even contact their nearest dealer to confirm.

In the past one year, Maruti has been on a recalling spree as in September, 2014, it recalled 69,555 units of Ritz, Swift and Swift Dzire. Moreover, April was the worst for India's largest passenger carmaker as it was forced to recall 1,03,311 units of Ertiga, Swift and Dzire over faulty fuel filler neck – Undoubtedly, one of the biggest recalls in the Indian motoring history.

Recalling vehicles is not a foreign term globally but India is relevantly new to this. However, manufacturers recalling vehicles is not a negative thing to do as it not only propels the trust of people in the brand but also showcases the responsibility of the carmaker towards its loyalists.
