Mahindra XUV500 to be Recalled for Replacing Faulty Parts

India’s leading SUV maker, Mahindra Mahindra has now announced to held a voluntar y replacement of certain components of the select batch of its flagship premium SUV, XUV 500. The company has said to replace three parts- fluid hose, front power window units and left wiper blade cover of some of the units which were sold in 2011 and 2012. The replacement of the aforementioned parts will be carried out for free.

The company hasn’t however disclosed the exact number of vehicles to go through the replacement procedure, a total 60,000 to 65,000 vehicles were sold during the same period. Commenting on the same, the company issued a statement saying, "This recall is in keeping with the MM's customer centric approach as well the compliance with the recently announced voluntary code on vehicle recall,"

This is the first voluntary recall from Mahindra Mahindra to replace the faulty parts, however other automakers including Tata, Honda and Maruti Suzuki India had carried out the voluntary recall operations very successfully.
