Mahindra recently launched the updated BE 6 in the SPORTEQ edition as well as the Formula E editions, which added multiple new features and equipment as well, such as a fresh new interior layout, a triple-screen setup, which adds a new passenger screen, and even new colours like Ruby Velvet for the BE 6.
Mahindra did make an announcement of giving the software added features to previous BE 6 owners as well, but what actual features would be rolled out to them?
BE 6: Which Features To Be Rolled Back?
Mahindra BE 6 SPORTEQ edition brought in multiple new additions in hardware and software, including a triple-screen setup, a new 70 kWh battery pack, and a new top-spec variant.
In software terms, Mahindra brought some features to the BE 6 SPORTEQ, which are also going to be rolled out to the current BE 6 owners as well as the XEV 9S and XEV 9e owners as well. So, let’s take a look at what those new features are:

Existing BE 6, XEV 9e, and XEV 9S owners will receive new SPORTEQ software features through OTA updates starting January 2027. However, the exact feature set will vary depending on the model and variant.
Overview
The Mahindra BE 6 SPORTEQ continues to be a concept-looking SUV that has bold cuts and creases and an aggressive-looking front. It does turn heads when you drive past, and with the new Formula E Freedom Edition as well, it adds subtle details such as a tricolour flag on the front and rear bumpers, exclusive badging, and styling that has been made similar to the standard car.

The BE 6 SPORTEQ is feature-loaded and gets a 12.3-inch triple display setup with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as connected car tech features with built-in Google Gemini. Alongside this, it also has dual-zone climate control, a panoramic glass roof, multi-colour ambient lighting, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos, a powered tailgate, a head-up display, dual wireless phone chargers, and ventilated front seats.

In terms of safety, the BE 6 SPORTEQ is equipped with 7 airbags, a 540-degree camera, Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), front and rear parking sensors, electronic stability programme (ESP), and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). The BE 6 SPORTEQ now gets a new safety feature called the Revive SOS mode, which enables the SUV to deliver up to 13 kilometres of additional driving range even when the battery percentage drops to zero percent. This function can be used a maximum of 5 times in the vehicle’s life.

Price & Rivals
The BE 6 SPORTEQ starts at Rs 19.45 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs 29.95 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Formula E Freedom Edition. It primarily rivals the Tata Sierra EV, VinFast VF7, MG ZS EV, Hyundai Creta Electric, Maruti e Vitara, Tata Curvv EV, and Toyota Ebella.
