A new, limited edition variant of the flagship BMW 7 Series sedan has just been launched in India. It’s based on the 740Li trim and adds the M Sport exterior package with interior details from the BMW Individual range. The BMW Individual 740Li M Sport Edition is priced at Rs 1.42 crore (ex-showroom) at a premium of Rs 2.4 lakh over the standard 740Li M Sport variant.

This limited edition BMW 740Li offers a lot of personalisation options such as customizable embroidery on the headrest and backrest cushions. It has the BMW Individual Alcantara headliner with Nappa leather for the mocha and black upholstery. The BMW Individual emblem is also prominently displayed on the dashboard and central console tunnel.

The M Sport package for the 740Li adds sporty exterior details that highlight the luxury sedan’s dynamic capabilities. This limited edition variant is only available in two paint options from the BMW Individual range: Tanzanite Blue and Dravit Grey. It also gets the choice of 20-inch dual-tone light alloy wheels V-spoke in style 628 and 20-inch M light alloy wheels Star-spoke in style 817 M.

As a 7 Series, it is very well equipped in terms of cabin comforts. It offers a panoramic glass roof, four-zone climate control, electrically adjustable comfort seats with massage function and active seat ventilation all round. There is also the rear-seat entertainment package which offers two 10.2-inch touchscreen displays with a Blu-ray player for the rear passengers and a pop-out 7-inch tablet that acts as a remote for various infotainment functions. Other tech in the cabin includes the digital driver’s display with the BMW Operating System 7.0 and the central infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, gesture control and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. 

The 740Li is powered by BMW’s turbocharged 3-litre six-cylinder petrol engine that churns out 340PS and 450Nm. It is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and this luxury limo claims a 0-100kmph sprint time of just 5.6 seconds. The 7 Series is also fitted with adaptive two-axle air suspension to offer a balance of comfort and dynamism by automatically adjusting the ride height to any driving situation.

In terms of safety features, it is equipped with six airbags, dynamic traction control, side-impact protection and cornering braking control. There are a host of driver assistance systems on offer as well such as parking assistant plus with the 360-degree camera, lane departure warning, reversing assistant and rear collision warning.

The BMW Individual 740Li M Sport Edition can only be booked from BMW India’s website. Its lucky few owners will also be granted membership to the BMW Excellence Club that offers curated luxury experiences around the world.

The 7 Series is priced from Rs 1.37 crore to Rs 1.69 crore (ex-showroom) is locally assembled at the brand’s Chennai facility. It rivals the likes of the Audi A8 and Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
