Hyundai Verna and i10 receive CarDekho Award 2012

We recently visited Hyundai's head office in Delhi to deliver Hyundai's CarDekho Awards trophies, Hyundai was accredited with the 'CarDekho Most Popular Sedan, 2012 Award for Verna Fluidic and 'Most Popular Hatchback, 2012' for the i10. CarDekho Awards is significant one for Hyundai, since the winners were picked by none other than the real online users. CarDekho awards implies that Hyundai cars are extremely popular, at least, considering the opinion of those who search for automobile information on the Internet. Hyundai Verna grabbed the award by getting a total of 26.88 per cent votes in favour, while the i10 got a total of 20.90 per cent votes.

Mr. Mohit Yadav, AVP - Corporate Sales and Strategy, CarDekho presented the trophy to Mr. Rakesh Srivastava, Sr. Vice President & Divison Head, Marketing and Sales Division and Mr. CH Han, Sr. Executive Director, Hyundai India. Mr. CH Han's visiting card reads his name as Shar Rukh (CH) Han. When asked about it he told us the reason that if the Bollywood star is passionate about being the biggest superstar in Bollywood, he is determined to make HMIL the biggest company of the Indian automotive industry. We also interviewed Mr. Srivastava on this occasion and we appreciate his vision for the Indian automotive industry , he knows the industry like no one does. Hyundai has a remarkable fleet of the vehicles, which fulfill the needs of one and all, and Mr. Srivastava and Mr. Han's dedication towards making this work can't be denied.

When asked about Hyundai's success mantra even during the slowdown, Mr. Srivastava replied, "We achieved this by focusing on quality of customer interactions and aggressive marketing campaigns. To improve our sales volume we increased our geographical reach and depth by increasing our dealership showrooms to 364 and Workshops to 904. Rural sales focus is a core part of our strategy as we have strong brands in the popular segments and to reach the customers we increased the number of Rural Sales Outlets to 268 outlets."

He understands the dynamics of the Indian market and hence he knows that how significant is the role of compact passenger cars in the Indian market, he said, "The passenger car market in India is largely dominated by compact cars and we expect this trend to continue. However the Sedans, SUVs and MPV segment is also witnessing a steady growth. We have a strong product line-up in compact car segment to luxury SUV. Our products have been well received by the consumers across the country. Our market share in the passenger car segment is over 19% and we have been able to retain our market share and continue to achieve the growth momentum."
