It is that time of the year when you’ll see plenty of special editions from carmakers as the festive season is around the corner. Honda Cars India has started the spree with the launch of a limited-run model of the Jazz-based crossover, the WR-V, known as the Alive Edition.

Based on the base-spec WR-V S, the Alive Edition is similar to the previous Edge Edition, which was also based on the same variant. Available with both petrol and diesel engine options, the Alive Edition packs a few extra goodies at a slight premium.

What’s new?

  • While the standard S is offered with 16-inch steel wheels, the Alive Edition gets the machine-finished alloys of the top-spec VX variant
  • Gets new internal rearview mirror with integrated rear camera display
  • Comes with rear parking sensors
  • Black leatherette seat upholstery with “Alive” logo
  • Steering wheel cover
  • One month free subscription of Honda’s telematics services, Honda Connect
  • Customary “Alive” emblem

The cumulative cost of the add-ons exceeds the ~Rs 24k premium that Honda is charging for them.

Additionally, the WR-V now comes with a new exterior colour, Radiant Red, and is available across the variant lineup, including the new Alive Edition. This colour was introduced with the second-gen Amaze earlier this year and has recently been introduced with the 2018 model year Honda Jazz as well.

In the sub-4m crossover and SUV space, the Honda WR-V competes with the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, and Ford EcoSport. It’s priced in the range of Rs 7.79 lakh to Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
