The Harrier EV packs in a dual-motor powertrain and a more feature-rich setup

The 2025 Tata Harrier EV is the latest electric SUV from the carmaker. It is Tata’s flagship electric SUV and is not a direct segment competitor to the Hyundai Creta Electric. While the Harrier EV has a starting price of Rs 21.49 lakh (ex-showroom), it’s fair to say that some of its variants will sit in the same price category as the Creta Electric.

As we await the Tata Harrier EV’s full price list, in this report, we list out the 10 things that the flagship Tata EV gets over the Creta Electric.

    All-wheel Drive With Boost Mode

The Tata Harrier EV gets an all-wheel drivetrain equipped with a dual motor system in the Tata EV lineup. The front motor puts out 158 PS and the rear one develops 238 PS with a combined torque output of up to 504 Nm. The Harrier EV is the quickest Tata EV and it comes with a Boost mode that makes it capable of sprinting from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.3 seconds.

The Creta Electric, on the other hand, offers only a front-wheel drivetrain with a single motor setup.

    Digital IRVM

The Harrier EV gets a digital internal rearview mirror (IRVM) that is capable of projecting a live video feed from a camera mounted on the shark-fin antenna. It gives you a clearer view, especially if the back is blocked by passengers, luggage, or dirt. The Creta Electric in comparison gets an basic auto-dimming IRVM.

The Harrier EV’s IRVM also has an integrated dashcam which is an essential feature to have for capturing unforeseen incidents on the road. The Creta Electric doesn’t get a factory-fitted dashcam.

    Summon Mode

The Summon Mode in Harrier EV allows it to move forward or backwards remotely using the key fob. It helps you bring out the SUV from your garage or any tight spaces without you being inside the cabin. Hyundai doesn’t offer this function on the Creta Electric.

    Auto-park Assist

The Harrier EV is also equipped with a hands-free parking system. With just a press of a button, it can identify a suitable parking spot and steer itself into it without any throttle or brake inputs. This is particularly useful for beginner drivers or for parallel parking in crowded areas, something the Creta Electric misses out on.

    Bigger Infotainment

    2025 Tata Harrier EV

The Harrier EV’s cabin gets a 14.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It’s not just bigger than the Creta Electric’s 10.25-inch unit, but also offers a more premium Samsung QLED display for crisper visibility. That said, both the Harrier EV and Creta Electric’s infotainment are capable of making in-car EV charging payments.

    Transparent Mode

The Tata Harrier EV uses its 360-degree camera to offer a transparent view mode that virtually shows the feed from under the car. It helps navigate rough patches or unseen road obstacles. While the Creta Electric gets a 360-degree camera, it doesn’t have the Transparent Mode functionality.

10-speaker Sound System With Dolby Atmos

The Tata Harrier EV features a 10-speaker JBL sound system that supports Dolby Atmos. Compared to the 8-speaker Bose sound system in the Creta Electric, this one should provide a more immersive in-cabin audio experience.

    Powered Tailgate

The Harrier EV makes loading and unloading easier with its powered tailgate and hands-free opening where you just wave your foot under the rear bumper, and the boot opens automatically. The Creta Electric, on the other hand, doesn’t offer a powered tailgate.

    7 Airbags

The Tata Harrier EV and Hyundai Creta Electric both get six airbags as standard, however, the fully loaded Harrier EV comes with an extra airbag which adds to its safety quotient. The 7th airbag is a knee airbag for the driver, placed below the steering wheel to give extra protection in case of an unfortunate crash.

    Multi-link Rear Suspension

The Harrier EV rides on a more sophisticated multi-link rear suspension setup. This should help provide better ride comfort and handling compared to the torsion beam setup in the Creta Electric.

    BONUS - 6 Multi-Terrain Modes

While both the EVs offer you multi-terrain modes, the Harrier EV gets you a little extra. It comes with six modes: Normal, Rock Crawl, Mud Ruts, Snow/Grass, Sand, and Custom. These are great for those occasional but serious off-road trips.

In comparison, the Hyundai Creta Electric doesn’t get terrain modes but offers three driving modes – Eco, Normal, and Sport. Do note that the Harrier EV also comes with similar drive modes for everyday driving.

    Tata Harrier EV side profile

In conclusion, both the Harrier EV and Creta Electric are well-packaged electric SUVs in their respective segments. The prices for the Hyundai Creta Electric range from Rs 17.99 lakh to Rs 23.50 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Tata Harrier EV starts from Rs 21.49 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom) and its full prices are yet to be announced.
