The new tyre has been designed keeping in mind the family owed cars for premium and mid premium markets. Customers who want value for money and safety can get that alongwith maximum protection and fuel economy with the new tyre.

Rajeev Anand, Chairman Managing Director, Goodyear India Limited said that in the present scenario fuel price is an increasing worry, the Fuel Max technology is developed to improvise on fuel consumption without cutting in the performance or mileage.

Mr Anand also said that India is a huge country with different conditions. The Assurance Fuel Max will provide critical safety features like strong grip, blow out resistance, resistance from puncture, anti-skid and shorter braking distance. It will be the preferred choice for city drives along with long trips.

Goodyear is committed to its promise for a cleaner and greener environment, the tyre maker has joined hands with a NGO Grow-Tress. In the programme they will plant plant over 3,000 trees with the unveil of Assurance Fuel Max in the domestic auto market.

The tyre comes with rolling resistance or rolling friction, it happens when the tyre rolls on plain surface.More the resistance, more energy will be required to roll the tyre. The car's fuel consumption is due to tyres, so if rolling tyre friction decreases it will lead to better fuel consumption.

In the test conducted by TÜV SÜD Automotive GmbH as technical witness partner, the results exhibited that Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max is more than 4 per cent fuel efficient than the tyre makers previous generation of the tyre technology wherein the tread compound is carbon based. The test was performed in Mireval, France by using Citroen C4 1.61 on the size 195/65 R15 versus the Goodyear Ducaro GA.

The new Assurance Fuel Max’s improvised fuel economy can save 160 litre of petrol. For instance: if 1.6 litre car gives an average fuel consumption of 10L/100 Km is affixed with Assurance Fuel Max, the size 195/65R15 91V and travels to 40,000 km, the fuel saving can be calculated as: 40,000 km (the distance traveled) by 10L/100 km (Fuel consumption rate) by 4 per cent (fuel saving rate)= 160 Litre (the potential fuel saving).

Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max is manufactured with two piles in sidewalls of the tyre for increasing protection and durability. The tyre is made with four pitch sequence and high centreline block angles which helps in smooth drive.
