General Motors India is yet to reveal its plans for the next year's Indian Auto Expo, however it seems like the company doesn't have much to show and is planning to display few of its global products including Camaro and Corvette. Moreover, we learned that GM will unveil the much anticipated Beat facelift at the event.

Chevrolet Beat

The Beat was first launched in petrol version only in 2010, however the company introduced the model with diesel engine in 2011. It has been three year since its inception in the market and now it requires a makeover to remain fresh in the market. The revamped Beat is expected to hit the market by mid 2014.

At the last year's Paris Motor Show, General Motors unveiled the Beat facelift which is now available in several European markets. It is expected that the 2014 Beat will have a new front bumper, redesigned grille and fog lamps. To offer a more sportier look, the small car will feature a new set of alloy wheels and revised rear spoiler. Interior changes are expected to be limited with some cosmetic updates to centre console and new upholstery for seats.

The Beat facelift is expected to carryover the same engine mechanics- a 1.2-litre petrol (offered with LPG as well) and the 0.9-litre diesel engine. These engines are mated to a five-speed manual transmission. If reports are to be believed, the company might introduce the 1.0-litre engine, which is already available in Europe and an automatic version of the car could also make its entry in the Indian market.
