General Motors Geared Up to Roll Out 2012 Chevrolet Cruze Next Month

General Motors India is constantly striving hard to establish itself amongst the top 5 car makers of the country. The strategy followed for this is not a unique one but it has worked for other car makers in past, so we do not really have a reason to expect otherwise. GM India is readying to roll out on a number of new cars as well as facelifted versions to achieve its aim. Soon to break covers is the Chevrolet Enjoy MPV, Chevrolet Captiva facelift, Chevrolet Sail hatchback and sedan and Chevrolet Cruze facelift. The quickest of these cars in terms of launch is the Chevrolet Cruze sedan revamped version which is expected to hit the showrooms in June 2012.

Soon to break covers is the Chevrolet Enjoy MPV, Chevrolet Captiva facelift, Chevrolet Sail hatchback and sedan and 2012 Chevrolet Cruze. The quickest of these cars in terms of launch is the Chevrolet Cruze sedan revamped version which is expected to hit the showrooms in June 2012.

Already a significant member of the D-segment, the 2012 Chevrolet Cruze is all the more expected to rule the roost. The car is expected to receive major changes under the hood; the new 1998cc motor which pumps out 163 PS of power is expected to replace the 1991cc VM Motori engine that pumps out 148 BHP of peak power. Mated to either six-speed manual transmission or six-speed automatic transmission, this engine ensures improved acceleration times as well as fuel economy. On account of engine upgrade the increase in prices can not be avoided and a hike of 2.5 percent to 4 percent is expected. The Cruze sedan is also expected to undergo significant makeover in terms of exteriors and interiors by next year.

Recently this American auto major has revealed the first picture of the Chevrolet Trax SUV which is expected to take on the likes of Skoda Yeti and Nissan Juke. It is made available in both petrol and diesel versions which are powered by 1.4-liter 138 BHP petrol engine and 1.7-liter 128 BHP turbo diesel engine respectively. The company is also said to have been mulling over developing the Chevrolet Beat sedan which is expected to be placed in the Rs. 4.5-6.5 lakh bracket and to rival the Tata Indigo CS and Mahindra Verito CS sedans.
