Ford India continues to test upcoming 2015 Figo
As the expected launch nears, Ford India continue to test the upcoming 2015 Ford Figo. Speaking of it, the sales of the on-going car are dwindling as the production is likely low, furthermore, company is also providing discounts on the accessories indicating the launch of the new car sooner.
The second gen hatch, already on sale in Brazil, received a massive makeover including mechanical upgrades. In terms of features, 2015 Figo will be getting the SYNC infotainment system with a 3.5-inch display screen. Figo brought the segment first Bluetooth enabled audio system, now, the second-gen hatch indeed will bring the segment first voice guided Ford’s SYNC system.
The AppLink smartphone integration will also debut in Figo; with the help of SYNC, AppLink lets you use selected smartphone apps through voice commands. Ford’s Emergency Assistance will also be offered in it, the system instantly calls the emergency services (108) in case of any casualty (if driver airbags deploy).
Speaking of the engines, the 2015 Figo will get new petrol and diesel engines, a newly developed 1.0-liter TiVCT 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol and Fiesta/EcoSport derived 1.5-liter TDCi turbo diesel.
The small 1.0-liter 3-pot petrol is a powerhouse chucking out power in the range of 80-85 bhp, with a peak torque of 105 Nm. And since the motor is small, expect a modest fuel economy from the petrol Figo. Adding on the diesel, Fiesta’s 1.5-liter oil burner which generates 89 bhp and 204 Nm of torque is likely to be detuned in Figo diesel - 75 bhp - 190 Nm.
