Car sales sky rocket
The Indian car market is all set to top the world in the future and the phenomenon has already started with car sales sky rocketing. The sales reached at an annual high of 39.5 per cent in April this year. Usually in April buyers are subdued after bunched purchases at the close of the financial year in March to take advantage of tax breaks on depreciation.

The figures are very encouraging with domestic sales at 143,976 in April against last year’s 103,227 a year ago. Market leader Maruti Suzuki sold 80,034 units as per the figures of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).
Players like General Motors India and Toyota Kirloskar saw a 50 per cent jump in year-on-year sales. Toyota sold 420 units in the MUV segment in Chennai alone.
