Bookings Start for Etios Cross - Delivery by May '14
Bookings of the Toyota’s first crossover Etios start accoridng to the announcement made by the Toyota Official at the 2014 Auto Expo while unveiling the car. The vehicle will be available by the month of May '14. The car is based on the existing Etios Hatch and shares its underpinnings with it. Etios cross is made available in both petrol and diesel fuel trims. The car comes with an option of two petrol engine having 1.2L and 1.5L. The 1.2 litre engine produces a power of 79bhp with peak torque of 104Nm while the 1.5-litre petrol engine churns out a power of 89bhp and maximum torque of 132Nm. The crossover is also offered in diesel fuel variant having a 1.4-litre D-4D engine that develops a power of 67bhp and torque of 170Nm. Engine in both the models are coupled to five-speed manual transmission.
As per the overall profile of the vehicle is concerned, the dimensions remain same, but the car distinguishes by its rugged looks thanks to the plastic cladding all around the body.
At the front, the car gets a pseudo looking bash guard. The overall profile of the front as well as rear bumper is buffy as compared to the Etios hatch. The car sports ABS, EBD, driver and co-passenger air bags, and piano black interior trims.
Though the interor design similar with the Etios Hatch, but it feels more upmarket in Piono Black finish. The flat bottom multi-function steering is also carried over from the Etios hatch.
Adding to the plushness, AC vents are surrounded by chrome bezels. The cars is equipped with bluetooth enabled audio unit, which helps you answer phone calls, and stream your faviorite audio.
