The German automaker, BMW will be showcasing an extensive lineup of its cars at the upcoming 2016 Indian Auto Expo. BMW launched its all new 3-Series today, which will be a part of a total of  thirteen car showcase that is making its way to the Expo. The 2016 Auto Expo will be held from 5th to 9th of February in the Greater Noida region.

Some of the highlights of the show will include the likes of 7-Series. The car will takes on Jaguar’s XJL and offerings from fellow German automakers like the Audi A8L and the Mercedes Benz S-Class.

BMW recently revealed a video announcing the theme of its Auto Expo showcase, which happens to be ‘The future of Luxury’ and with 7-Series taking care of the luxury bit, the utility duties will be undertaken by the all-new BMW X1.

The all New BMW X1

Breaking from the BMW tradition, the all new X1 will find its foundation in the German automaker’s front wheel drive UKL (Untere Klasse) modular platform. The compact SUV will cater to the needs of customers in this hot segment, while taking on the likes of Audi Q3 and Merc’s GLA and is expected to priced competitively around Rs. 28 lacs.

BMW is also expected to showcase its compact sedan at the upcoming expo, which like the all-new X1, breaks the BMW tradition and features a FWD configuration. All in all, the BMW pavilion at the Auto Expo will be an overwhelming experience.

Check out the list and gallery of BMW models, which will be showcased under the  ‘The future of Luxury’ theme at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo.

The all new BMW 7-Series

The theme of BMW’s Auto Expo showcase is oriented around ‘Future of luxury’ and BMW 7-Series is a perfect example of that. The luxury sedan will incorporate a 3.0-liter TwinPower turbo, 6-cylinder diesel mill, which will produce a  power output of 259bhp and 620Nm of torque.

Things however, get interesting when we come to the petrol units. The all-new BMW 7-Series will feature a 3.0-liter inline-6 and a 4.4-liter V8 petrol unit, both of which will come with a couple of turbochargers strapped onto them. The V8 will produce a rather impressive 445bhp of poweroutput, while the 3.0-liter unit will hold its own with a reasonable 320bhp.

It is also expected that BMW will showcase a hybrid variant of the 7-series, which will incorporate a 2.0-liter twin turbocharged four-cylinder petrol motor, which will come coupled to a 93bhp electric motor. The hybrid 7-Series will feature a combined power output of 320bhp and what remains common to all the units is the super-fast 8-speed automatic gearbox, which will come coupled to every single powertrain option.

The all new BMW X1

BMW is also expected to launch its premium compact SUV, the X1 at the upcoming Auto Expo. This car is very important for BMW’s portfolio as it will be breaking away from the company's traditional RWD layout and will go on to incorporate BMW’s new front wheel drive platform. This change in layout will result in additional cabin space. The German automaker will in all likeliness incorporate the 2.0-litre 4-cylinder diesel motor, which will produce 190bhp of power output and a peak torque stat of 400Nm. The powertrain will also be offered on the xDrive variants and might also incorporate the 8-speed automatic transmission seen in the 7-series luxury sedan.
