BEHR lndia gears up for Euro 4 Emission Standards
Behr India, a joint venture between Behr GmbH & Co.KG, Stuttgart systems partner for international automotive industry and Anand Automotive Limited and one of the well established manufacturers of automotive parts and systems, revealed today the ‘Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) technology in the country. The new technology EGR will support the heavy trucks and also ultra light commercial vehicles to meet the forthcoming Euro 4 standards in India.

During the EGR cooling process, the exhaust gas is processed via cooling system and then mixed with the fresh air which helps in reducing the level of pollutants. The process reduces the oxygen concentration in cylinder charge and combustion temperature drops as a result it lowers the nitrogen oxides in exhaust gas. It can be mated with other pollutant reduction systems by not shelling much amount and allowing vehicles to comply with more lower pollutant emission limits.
Mr. Sunil Kaul, President & COO, Behr India Limited said that they are happy to launch EGR technology in the wake of Euro 4 emission standards to be introduced in India. The new technology will provide pollutant emission and has been launched keeping in mind the company's commitment towards public safety and health.
Behr has been successful in lowering the level of corrosion by using a new kind of a material coating as the charge air cooler, so that air cooler can be utilized as a part over the full service of EGR systems. Behr India is all set up for the project and hopes to introduce it with “Zero PPM & Zero warranty” tag.
