The diesel engine expected in Audi A8 is 3.0 V6 Tdi with 240bhp derived from Audi A4, Audi Q5 and Audi A6. The other engine option might available in Audi A8 is 4.2 V8 Tdi diesel unit with 350bhp which is also available in Audi Q5. Coming to the petrol version th saloon is expected to come with 4.2 DOHC V8 FSI.

The car will be bearing an eight-speed automatic transmission with Quattro four-wheel drive as common to all. The torque between the rear wheels is split by a sport differential option.
