Audi A3 India launch imminent, likely to be priced at Rs20 lakh

The German luxury carmaker Audi, has given a nod to its plan to bring the new smashing luxury on wheels, Audi A3 on the Indian shores. Michael Perschke verified the news mentioning that the company is seeking to launch Audi A3 after the launch of Audi Q3 in India by 2012.

The company is mulling over to conduct product clinics for Audi A3 towards the end of this fiscal. Audi pulled the wraps off the smallest offering under its portfolio, Audi A3 before the world at the Geneva Motor Show held in March this year. Audi A3 is the smallest sedan under the company's portfolio, the sedan is around 4440mm long and 188mm shorter than Volkswagen Jetta. However, Audi A3 is 260mm shorter than its sibling Audi A4 which is around 4700mm long. The production version of the sedan is expected to have the same dimensions.

Audi A3 has been inherited with stupendous traits from the its humongous siblings which includes the six-corner, single-frame grille as well as the angular headlamps. The sedan has major similarities with the new Audi A6. Audi A3 price is supposed to lie in the range of Rs20 lakh. As per the new Audi A3 review, the sedan is being built on the lines on Volkswagen Jetta. Apart from this, the all new Audi A3 is expected to get Volkswagen's latest MQB platform.The company is all set to launch the new Audi A6 in the Indian car market on August 3, 2011.
