2013 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Shifts Production to Illinois, U.S

Mitsubishi is all set for the launch of the 2013 Outlander Sport in the U.S. The facelift of the Mitsubishi’s best seller was unveiled at the 2012 New York Motor Show and ever since, there has been enthusiasm and excitement all around about it. The current version of the Outlander Sport has been in the market just for three years and coveted the "Top Safety Pick" designation which was adorned on it by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) for the 2012 model year.

The 2013 Outlander Sport in the States has arrived at a price tag which starts from $19,170 which in INR will be close to Rs. 10.5 Lakh. This price is excluding the destination and handling fee which works out to be approximately $825 which is Rs. 45,500 in our currency.

The production for the 2013 model has been shifted to Illinois, U.S from where it will be exported to Russia, Latin America and the likes. There have been speculations about this shift for quite some time since Mitsubishi is looking out for a 100% increase in the demand due to which the Illinois plant will be producing close to 70,000 units but the confirmation came in recently.

The new 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport will see changes in terms of design and equipment but under the hood, it will have the same 4-cylinder, 2.0-litre engine which is capable of producing 148bhp of power combined with CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission).
