Hyundai recently launched the Alcazar, a three-row SUV, and it is available in a 7-seater avatar in limited variants only. One of the variants that seem to have missed out on this capability of seating an extra passenger is the Platinum automatic, or rather, the mid-spec automatic variants.
A document from the Delhi Transport Department has come to light. It clearly states that homologation has been done for the Platinum (O) variant, in a 7-seater configuration too. This could very well signal the launch of additional variants down the line. The 7-seater variants should cost around Rs 15,000 less than the corresponding 6-seater as seen in the Prestige variants.
The Alcazar is available with two engine options, both of which can be had with a manual and automatic transmission. The petrol engine is a 2-litre naturally aspirated motor that makes 159PS/191Nm. The diesel engine is a 1.5-litre unit that makes 115PS/250Nm. Both can be had with either a 6-speed manual or an automatic transmission.
