This level of protection is further guaranteed by the use of bulletproof glass capable of stopping even a sniper's bullet. The extensive reinforcement of the panels not only results in significantly thicker doors but also increases its weight to 160kg. In fact, the underbody of this Audi A8L Security has also been fortified with armour to withstand blasts.

Durable Tyres

In case you saw the non-metal part of theAudi A8L Security - the tyres - as a weak spot, think again. It is equipped with 'Run Flat' tyres, which can continue driving the car for up to 80 kilometres at a speed of 80 kmph even after going flat.

Protects The Air Inside

We’re not talking about just a PM2.5 filter and air purifier. In the event of a chemical attack, occupants need not worry about breathing any dangerous chemicals, as the A8L Security's cabin is equipped with oxygen cylinders. Additionally, in case of extreme emergencies, the sedan's doors are designed to eject themselves, for the passengers to exit easily.

Added Safety Means Added Weight

As a result of the extensive reinforcement of the entire car body and the incorporation of bulletproof glass, the weight of the Audi A8L has increased by approximately two tonnes, bringing the sedan's total weight to 4.5 tonnes. That’s more than 2 Toyota Forunter SUVs!

The Powertrain

A safe vehicle is not just one that is secure from attack, but also capable of getting away to a safe location very easily and quickly. Powering the Audi A8L Security is a 4-litre V8 turbo-petrol engine that produces 571PS and 800Nm. With these performance figures, this heavyweight Audi can go from 0 to 100kmph in just 6.3 seconds.

Price

These are a lot of specialist modifications, which of course, add a lot to the final price tag. The Audi A8L Security costs up to Rs 15 crore (ex-showroom), which is around Rs 13 crore more than the standard Audi A8L.
