If you’re looking to pick up a brand-new Volvo car, you’re in luck as the Swedish brand has just updated its entire lineup to MY23 specification and with mild-hybrid powertrains for the XC40 and the XC90. Here’s the complete price list for the electrified Volvo India lineup:

Model

Price (ex-showroom pan-India)

New XC40 mild-hybrid

Rs 45.9 lakh

XC60 mild-hybrid

Rs 65.9 lakh

S90 mild-hybrid

Rs 66.9 lakh

New XC90 mild-hybrid

Rs 94.9 lakh

The Volvo XC40 gets a special discounted price of Rs 43.2 lakh (ex-showroom) for the festive season. Meanwhile, prices for the mild-hybrid XC60 remain unchanged and the S90 has gotten pricier by Rs 1 lakh.

The mild-hybrid variants of these Volvo cars feature a 2-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 48-volt electric motor for improved fuel economy and reduced emissions. In the XC40 mild-hybrid variant, the powertrain is tuned to an output of 197PS and 300Nm while the XC90 mild-hybrid makes 300PS and 420Nm.

Meanwhile, the XC60 and S90 mild-hybrid powertrain is rated at 250PS and 350Nm. All these models have an eight-speed automatic transmission, but it is important to note that the XC90 has all-wheel drive while the XC40 is front-wheel drive.

The updated XC40 now looks the same as its all-electric version. Its new B4 Ultimate mild-hybrid variant gets a few feature updates too. It is now equipped with Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with rear cross-traffic alert, collision mitigation support, active noise control and an advanced air purifier. Other features include adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, an Android-powered infotainment system and a 14-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.

  • Volvo XC40 Recharge prices

The XC90 already gets ADAS features like BLIS with rear cross traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, lane assist, and collision mitigation support. These features are also offered in the new B6 Ultimate mild-hybrid variant.

Furthermore, it is equipped with a 360-degree camera, a graphical head-up display, and a 19-speaker Bowers and Wilkins premium sound system. Its Android-powered infotainment system also supports wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The Volvo lineup competes against similarly priced models from the likes of BMW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz and Jaguar. While not a luxury brand outright, Volvo offers a similarly premium experience at a slightly lower price.
