Renault Kwid Reaches Dealerships, Deliveries Begin

After a long wait, deliveries for the most awaited entry level hatchback have now started. The waiting list is long and stretches up to 2 months as Kwid was able to gather a good 25,000 bookings. The deliveries are initially focused in the metro cities and other cities can expect the hatchback in the coming weeks. As confirmed by a dealer in Jaipur, the car if booked now, can be expected in mid-January. The car was launched on September 24 and since then, the bookings have started piling up. This number is a new record for Renault India Pvt Ltd and is definitely a reason of concern for Maruti as the Kwid will compete Maruti’s best selling Alto 800.

Renault Kwid was launched at an astonishing price of INR 2.57 lac that extended to 3.53 lac (ex-showroom New Delhi), courtesy of the fact that Kwid is 98% localized. Talking about the performance, the entry level hatchback is powered by an inline 3-cylinder, 800cc engine that churns out 54 PS of power and 72 Nm of torque with an outstanding 25.17 kmpl of mileage. Coupled to a 5-Speed manual transmission, this car will definitely make the daily commutes more fun.

Customers also have a lot of customization options to give their car a personal touch with the long list of accessories provided by Renault. And with the low price tag, it won't be a surprise if majority of the customers opt to add some extra chrome touches to their ride.
