Mahindra XUV700 To Get Range Rover Evoque-Inspired Flush Door Handles
It will be a segment-first feature for a premium appearance and improved aerodynamics

The flush-fitting ‘Smart Door Handles’ will pop out automatically as the key comes in close proximity to the car.

It will be powered by Mahindra’s latest 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines, with 6-speed manual and automatic options.

The XUV700 should be unveiled towards the end of this month, followed by its launch next month.
Mahindra has started teasing some segment-first features of the XUV700, the latest one being its flush-fitting door handles. The teaser shows the ‘Smart Door Handles’ in operation.
This feature, replacing the regular pull handles, is seen in several premium cars like the Range Rover Evoque. Once the key comes in proximity to the car, the door handles will automatically pop out.
Other standout features could include adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera, auto-levelling LED headlamps with high beam assist, dynamic turn indicators, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, and a twin-display setup(including the touchscreen infotainment system and instrument cluster.
The XUV700 will also be the first car in its segment to feature ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), possibly including cross-traffic alert, blindspot detection, autonomous emergency braking, and lane keep assist.
The Mahindra XUV700 will come with the Thar’s petrol and diesel engines, but tuned for higher output. In the Thar, the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol unit makes 150PS and up to 320Nm, while the 2.2-litre diesel generates 130PS and 300Nm. Mahindra will offer the SUV with both 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options. A segment-exclusive optional all-wheel drive (AWD) will also be available.

We expect the XUV700 to be priced from Rs 16 lakh to Rs 22 lakh (ex-showroom), rivalling the MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari, and Hyundai Alcazar.
