Audi launches A8 L Security @ Rs. 9.15 crore

Audi has launched its A8 L Security armoured vehicle at the 2016 Auto Expo. The car was first introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2015 and now it is being showcased at Audi’s pavilion in the Expo, along with Audi R8 sports car and the Audi Prologue coupe concept. Specially designed and featuring all armoured architecture, the car will be available for Indian buyers on a special order, making its way from Germany.

The new Audi A8 L Security is an armoured edition of the A8 limousine sedan. This vehicle is designed with higher ordnance resistance to meet the VR9 level of protection standards from the ERV 2010 guideline and has certainly showcased an improvement over the last generation VR7 level. This enables security of the occupants, not only from the M60 category weapons and the light machine gun firing, but can as well withstand explosive charges. Surprisingly, robustness of the structure and armoured security are rendered without increasing the vehicle's weight, courtesy insertions of aluminum in its construction, which in turn makes it a light weight car when compared to others who have similar in comparison to the other cars in the auto market with similar ratings.

Apart from this, A8 L Security has become the only car in the armoured luxury sedan segment that avails all-wheel-drive, while the chassis is crafted to specifically meet the higher standards of security.

A8 L Security is manufactured in collaboration with the Neckarsulm, which is the top-secret plant of the company, in Germany. In the international market, the car will go against the likes of BMW 7 series and the Mercedes-Benz S-Guard in the segment. All these are clubbed together for their security features.
