Volkswagen India launches Cross Polo 1.2 MPI at INR 6.94 lacs
Volkswagen has introduced a new variant of its Cross Polo, the beefed up version of its Polo hatchback. Priced at INR 6.94 lacs (ex-showroom Mumbai,) the all-new Cross Polo 1.2 MPI features a 1.2-litre petrol engine that puts out 74bhp and 110Nm of peak torque. The Cross Polo is Volkswagen’s competes against the likes of Toyota Etios Cross, Fiat Avventura and soon-to-be launched Hyundai Elite i20 Cross.

The Cross Polo is a crossover that gets its basics from the standard Polo hatchback and comes with sporty body kit, giving it a more butch look. The car gets dual-beam halogen headlamps with black finish, 15-inch alloy wheels, Cross Polo-badged body cladding, bumpers with silver accents, silver-painted roof rails and rear-view mirror housing and chrome garnished front grille. While the interiors boasts audio system with CD and aux-in, leather-wrapped flat-bottomed steering wheel, full black upholstery and automatic air-conditioning
Speaking at the launch of the New Cross Polo, Mr. Michael Mayer, Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt. Ltd. said “With the New Volkswagen Cross Polo, we will inject some excitement into the premium hatchback segment in India. With its rugged, dynamic styling, upmarket interiors and high levels of safety, we are sure the New Cross Polo will appeal to buyers who like a bit of sportiness and individuality in their cars.”
On the safety front, the car comes equipped with ABS and dual front airbags, validated by the four-star rating that the car scored at the recent Euro NCAP crash test. Available in Flash Red, Reflex Silver and Deep Black color options, the pre-bookings are open from today onwards.
