Toyota considering a small MPV to compete Mobilio
The Japanese automaker, Toyota is reportedly working on a small MPV to compete against the likes of Honda Mobilio and Maruti Ertiga. With the introduction of Honda Mobilio MPV in the Indonesia market, the competition level is getting furious. If experts to be believed than Mobilio could be the best selling vehicle in Indonesia in the next year. By seeing this, its closest rival Toyota also planning to develop a small MPV, which is expected to be unveiled at the 2014 Indonesia Motor Show.

According to the iotomotif.com, Toyota is currently preparing a major competitor of Honda Mobilio. Currently, the Japanese carmaker rules the light MPV segment with the Avanza in the country, which managed to outsells the Suzuki Ertiga. Moreover, the Daihatsu Xenia, which is based on the Avanza, is also selling in good volumes and it is the second top selling MPV.
It is also said that the new Toyota MPV would be more premium than the Avanza and will directly compete against Mobilio. The vehicle is expected to get the similar 1.5-litre 4-cylinder gasoline motor.
