Swift and Dzire now Feature Optional Airbags and ABS from Base Variant

India’s prominent carmaker, Maruti Suzuki, has announced that it will be offering safety features like dual airbags and ABS in all the variants of Dzire and Swift. These features won’t be standard and are available as optional features.

Executive Director for Marketing Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “Swift and DZire are two of the most popular cars in India. Both have played an instrumental role in shaping the Indian automobile industry. The cars are known for contemporary styling, superior comfort, convenience features and performance. By offering driver and co-driver airbags and anti-lock braking system (ABS) across all variants of Swift and DZire, we want to further strengthen their popularity among customers.”

The sales figures for Swift have been remarkable throughout the decade and this model has created many records unhampered by the competition. On the other hand, Dzire was launched in 2008 and has emerged as India’s best seller entry sedan since 2013. This car is surely a segment leader as it is the only sedan that is among the top five cars of the Indian passenger car market, reassuring the trust, Indian people have shown in the car. The sale pattern for both the cars of Maruti Suzuki (Dzire and Swift) have been a trailblazer for the automobile industry and they have registered an average sale of 17,000 units per month for financial year 2014-15. The upcoming Tata Zica, which will rival the Swift is also packed with safety features. Tata Zica specifications include dual front airbags, advanced 9th generation ABS with EBD, corner stability control, rear parking sensors with infotainment screen display and an energy absorbing body structure.
