Nissan Micra CVT Prices Slashed; Starts At Rs 5.99 Lakh

With the competition heating up, Nissan has slashed prices of the Micra CVT. The hatchback is locally produced at the manufacturer's facility in Oragadam, Chennai. Prices for the automatic now start at Rs 5.99 lakh for the XL variant and Rs 6.74 lakh for the XV variant. The reduction in price is approximately Rs 50,000 in both variants. Nissan says that better localization levels have helped them pass on the benefit to the customer.

Its raft of practical features offer a safer, more enjoyable driving experience that raises the bar in this part of the market. What's more, the attractive price and impressive fuel economy makes it an even more compelling choice in terms of both driving pleasure and value for money” said Arun Malhotra, managing director – Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. 

The Micra goes up against popular hatchbacks such as the Maruti Suzuki Swift and the Hyundai Grand i10. It is powered by a 1.2-litre, 3 cylinder engine that develops 77PS of power and 104Nm of torque. The Nissan is the only hatchback to feature a CVT automatic in its class. Nissan says the "X-TRONIC CVT transmission is more fun to drive with no shift shocks and smoother acceleration." It gets goodies such as automatic climate control, an integrated audio system with steering mounted controls, and keyless-entry and go. 

The Indian auto market is finally warming up to the concept of automatics. This has been the reason why auto-giants such as Maruti have accounted for automatics in their expansion plans. We don't blame them; the rate at which traffic is getting worse, a little relief to the left leg is the least we can ask for!
