There's no doubt that Innova is the most successful product in Toyota India's portfolio, and by 2015 India's favorite MPV will be a decade old! For all these years Innova has been seen as the benchmark when it comes to MPVs. Despite an invasion by Maruti is 2012 with Ertiga, Innova continues its niche; now Honda has also joined the league with Mobilio. Moreover, by the time next-gen Innova enters the market, it will compete with Honda Mobilio, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga (maybe a facelifted version), Renault Lodgy (likely to launch early next year).

On the design front, the next-gen Innova will flaunt an entirely new appearance, test mule looks bigger, wider and more premium compared to outgoing models. Starting with the front, new Innova offers larger swept back headlamps and huge trapezoidal slated grille, expect day-time-running-LEDs and projector headlamps on board. The rear profile sports a wrap-around taillamps, larger rear-glass and a roof mounted spoiler. Like the new body, it will also ride on a new platform; reportedly, this time also Toyota has stick to the rugged ladder frame architecture instead of monocoque construction of its rivals. Speaking of the engines, expect a new diesel and petrol motors along with updated transmission to replace aging, less efficient units .
