New Volkswagen Polo models to be premiered at Geneva Motor Show
Volkswagen will unveil the latest iteration of the Polo at the upcoming 2014 Geneva Motor Show. The company will present the new EU-6 engines and new infotainment and assistance systems as well. With the new technology, the fuel consumption values were lowered by up to 21 per cent. The Geneva event will witness the unveiling of the Polo TSI BlueMotion, Polo TDI BlueMotion, Polo BlueGT and CrossPolo models. Moreover, Volkswagen is presenting the new R-Line exterior and interior packages for the Polo.

The Polo BlueMotion, was only available as a turbodiesel, is now available as a Polo TSI BlueMotion with a turbocharged petrol engine. This is the first time that Volkswagen has used this new three-cylinder engine. With a combined fuel consumption of over 24kmpl, the Polo TSI BlueMotion sets a new benchmark for petrol cars in its class. The Polo TDI BlueMotion sets a record in the market for five-seat diesel cars: the three-cylinder engine that develops 75PS consumes only 32kmpl.
The Polo BlueGT features the cylinder shut-off (Active cylinder management), which offers maximum dynamic performance together with max fuel efficiency. The new model now develops a top output of 150PS instead of the previous 140PS.
The CrossPolo version addresses all those customers who appreciate an individual off-road appearance while maintaining consistent on-road qualities. The CrossPolo has four doors. New colours, new seat materials, a new type of wheel and new smoked rear lights characterise the new 2014 model.
Polo R-Line packages. The R-Line programme delivers more dynamism. It is available in the Polo Comfortline and Polo Highline equipment versions. The R-Line features that are available as exterior and interior packages – for example bumpers, sports seats and steering wheels – were tuned for the latest Polo.
