New Nissan Rogue to Roll Out in 2013

The new Rogue compact crossover will soon go into production and will be launched in 2013, was confirmed by Nissan. The news was not able to grab much attention because of the launch of 2013 Nissan Altima. There is no further information about Nissan Rogue but expectations are that the model will be influenced by the Hi- Cross concept show at the Geneva Motor Show 2012 to which Nissan explained as the time reflected a way of thinking about future crossovers.

Nissan compact crossover was a concept which included a small third row in the car and also it has a gas- electric hybrid powertrain engine with a 2.0 liter, direct fuel injection four- cylinder along with a new generation automatic transmission. The redesigned Rogue may have the hybrid powertrain as an option which is expected by Nissan, as it will give a competitive nature to the segment.

The Rogues conventional design will also be available in the market. The hybrid version of Nissan is exclusive in the compact crossover segment as Ford is dropping the 2013 Escape hybrid model because no maker is talking about Escape hybrid compacts. Toyota is also manufacturing a very limited number of all-electric RAV4s and that also in partnership with Tesla. Nissan is somewhere in the middle of product rejuvenation. Other than 2013 Altima sedan four other models will be joining soon in the coming months.

Nissan revealed that the Pathfinders new version is coming up next right after the launch of Rogue. The automaker is also planning towards the replacement of Sentra with a sub-compact hatchback which possibly can be Versa hatch. This concept known as Invitation was unveiled at Geneva. The manufacturing of Rogue will be in US but the first model was built in Japan. The Rogue will be built with Leaf, Pathfinder, Frontier, Xterra and Maxima at the Nissan US Tennessee assembly plant starting in 2013.
