New Honda FCEV Concept unveiled

Honda, the Japanese automaker has unveiled its all-new FCEV Concept at the Los Angeles International Auto Show. The concept presents the company's styling direction for the next-generation fuel-cell vehicle. It is expected to be launched in the U.S. and Japan in 2014, followed by Europe.

Honda's next generation FCEV will feature the world's first application of fuel-cell powertrain packaged completely in the engine room of the vehicle. It will further enhances the efficiencies in cabin space as well as flexibility in the potential of FC technology to multiple vehicle types in the future.

The technological advancements to the fuel-cell stack have yielded more than a 60 per cent increase in power density while reducing the size of the stack by 33 per cent compared to the FCX Clarity. It is expected to deliver a driving range of more than 480 kilometers. The new FCEV Concept features sweeping character lines complimented by an ultra-aerodynamic body. The vehicle offers ample space and seating for five adults.
