Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X and new Pajero to be launched soon

Mitsubishi Motors recently launched the new Outlander, and is planning to launch a new version of Pajero soon in India. Pajero is a sports utility vehicle, the newer version of which would be available in the Indian markets at the end of this fiscal.

Mitsubishi motors has an impressive portfolio in India but has not been able to grasp a good hold at the market. In India, Mitsubishi launches vehicles in collaboration with Hindustan Motors. Mitsubishi is planning to launch a new Evolution series of cars in India.

With few interesting car launches due this fiscal, Mitsubishi has great hopes in terms of sales volumes. The company expects to sell 10,000 units by 2011-12, wherein, it could sell only 2,200 units in the past fiscal.

Recently launched Outlander has been priced at Rs. 19.95 lakh which happens to be approx. Rs. 70, 000 costlier than the earlier version. The plans to launch the all new Pajero and the range of Evolution series cars were revealed by Hindustan Motors executive vice-president and business head Vijay Kumar.

The partnership of Hindustan Motors and Mitsubishi currently sells Lancer and Cedia amongst the sedans and Pajero and Montero in SUV”s. With the current launch of Outlander and the expected launches of Pajero and evolution series, Mitsubishi expects the sales to be double this fiscal. The companies wish to increase their presence in the Indian automobile market and especially the passenger cars segment and wishes to expand its portfolio successfully.
