Mini Cooper Sells 241 Units this Year; to Open Hyderabad Dealership

BMW India had opened the first Mini Cooper dealership in India somewhere at the start of April, 2012 and had set the optimistic targets of 5-6 dealerships across India by the end of the year and the sale of 20-30 Mini's per month. And surprisingly, they seem well on their way to achieving and in fact bypassing these set targets. Mini Cooper India is in its 7th month of operation since the first dealership was opened and reports show that 241 units of the Mini have been sold across India so far, a figure that is in fact higher than the set target.

Additionally, the Mini is now sold in 3 dealerships in India with the first dealership, Infinity Cars, located in Mumbai, Maharashtra and 2 others in New Delhi namely; Deutsche Motoren and Bird Automotive. And now, moving forward BMW confirmed at the BMW X6 launch that they plan to open the 4th Mini Cooper dealership in the city of Hyderabad, in keeping with the good response that the Mini has received in India.

Now, with 3 dealerships already well established and a 4th one in the works, BMW is left with only 1-2 more dealerships to be established before this year ends. Among the cities being considered for the location of these dealerships are Bangalore, Chandigarh and Pune.

As of right now, we have the Mini in 3 segments available in the India line-up; The Mini Cooper hatchback, convertible and the Countryman. The base model, that is the Mini Cooper, is available at a price of Rs. 25.5 lakh while the top-end model the Mini Cooper S Countryman is up for grab at Rs. 35.9 lakh.
