The Hyundai Ioniq 5 has always looked like a very unique SUV on the road and that continues even today. The rear end of the Ioniq 5 comes with a sharply raked windshield, pixel-style LED taillamps, and a minimalist tailgate design. The rear remains futuristic and clean.

For 2026, Hyundai has updated the rear bumper with chunkier silver cladding, added a new roof spoiler, and slightly revised the V-shaped garnish lighting element. These subtle changes help keep the 2026 Ioniq 5 visually fresh.

Design

The 2026 Ioniq 5 gets a noticeable interior update with a new all-black cabin theme, replacing the earlier lighter dual-tone white and grey colour scheme. The Ioniq 5’s interior has always felt like a premium lounge rather than a conventional SUV cabin, and that remains its biggest strength. The flat floor, floating centre console that can be adjusted, and clean horizontal dashboard design create an open and airy experience for all occupants.

The dashboard layout remains familiar with dual 12.3-inch screens placed seamlessly next to each other for the infotainment system and digital driver’s display. The dashboard continues to feel minimalistic yet sophisticated. With the 2026 update, the Korean marque has introduced a new three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel with an illuminated Morse code. This steering wheel now also gets a heating function, adding more luxury to the experience, especially when you drive to colder places.

The centre console has also been revised for better practicality. The wireless phone charger has been repositioned to the top for easier access, while the cupholders have been redesigned, and Hyundai has added physical controls for heated and ventilated front seats, making daily usability better.

The top features include dual 12.3-inch displays, one for your infotainment and the other for the driver display. Additionally, you also get wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car technology with navigation, OTA updates, and in-car payment support for EV charging.

You also get amenities like an 8-speaker Bose sound system, panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, powered tailgate, dual-zone climate control, wireless phone charger, heated ORVMs, rear sunshades, and ambient lighting.

Safety is taken care of by features like 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), hill hold assist, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), front and rear parking sensors, rain-sensing wipers, a 360-degree camera, and a full Level 2 ADAS suite.

With the 2026 facelift, Hyundai has added Rear Parking Collision Avoidance Assist and Side Parking Distance Warning, further improving its ADAS package. 

The Ioniq 5 offers a large and practical boot, suitable for both daily usage and long-distance travel.

Its boot size measures up to 584 litres, and it has a wide opening, which makes it easy to store large suitcases, airport luggage, or family trip baggage without much effort.

Moreover, you also get a 57-litre frunk area to keep smaller bags or stow away your charging cables. 

The biggest update in the 2026 Ioniq 5 comes in the powertrain department.
