Mercedes-AMG C43 Launched In India; Priced At Rs 75 Lakh

• First ever two-door coupe in the AMG43 range.
• 3.0-litre, twin-turbo, V6 produces 390PS and 520Nm.
• 0-100kmph in 4.7 seconds.
• Based on C-Class facelift which went on sale in 2018.

Mercedes-Benz has launched the C 43 AMG in India at a price of Rs 75 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India). It is the second new car from the German manufacturer to be launched this year after the V-Class MPV.

The C 43 AMG doesn’t get a full-blown AMG V8 engine. Instead, it gets a 3.0-litre, twin-turbo, V6 motor that produces 390PS of power and 520Nm of torque. The engine is paired to a 9-speed AMG Speedshift gearbox and a rear-biased 4MATIC all-wheel drive system. Mercedes claims the C 43 AMG can hit 0-100kmph in just 4.7 seconds.

If the two-door layout and coupe roofline isn’t distinctive enough, you can identify the C 43 AMG from its more aggressive exterior features. It gets a sportier front bumper and AMG front grille, sporty side skirts, a completely different rear end with a rear diffuser that houses quad tailpipes. From the tail lamps to the bumper, the AMG C43 Coupe’s rear end is very distinct from the standard C-Class sedan.

The interior layout is similar to the C-Class facelift. It gets Mercedes’ new steering wheel with touch-sensitive controls and 10.25-inch central infotainment screen. Other features on the new Mercedes-AMG C 43 include a panoramic sunroof, multi-beam LED headlamps, dual-zone climate control, agility control and an optional smartphone integration package that offers Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and wireless charging for smartphones. For safety, the sporty coupe gets seven airbags, adaptive braking, attention assist and active parking assist with a camera, like the outgoing model.

In India, the C 43 AMG has only one rival - the Audi S5 - which is priced at Rs 72.41 lakh (ex-showroom India).
