Maruti R3 to be named Ertiga MPV
Speculations are rife that Maruti India is going to name its concept MPV as Ertiga MPV. Maruti India is expected to show a glimpse of the car at Auto Expo 2012 in Delhi. The launch will take probably a year to happen. The 6-7 seater Ertiga MPV is based on Maruti Ritz platform and could be priced between Rs 7-9 lakh. With this comfort car, Maruti will jump with its first high volume diesel MPV in Indian car market.

The sporty, classy and spacious MPV will arrive in both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol engine will be powered with a 1.4 litre K-series engine producing about 87 Bhp-130 Nm torque while the diesel variant could be affixed with a 1.3 litre multijet diesel engine generating 90 Bhp-200 Nm torque. The car is generating a hysteria even before its launch and Maruti's brand value will take the car to plenty of Indian homes. The MPV could make fortune in passenger vehicles as well and can attract a lot of taxi dealers.
Apart from this not much is revealed about the MPV, the expected name blew in the air after the much talked about renaming of Mahindra XUV500 from W201. The Ertiga MPV will have to compete with Toyota Innova which is coming in the range of Rs 8.35-12.61 lakh (ex-showroom in Delhi). Mahindra Xylo is a tough rival too sharing the same price range as Maruti R3. Xylo is still promoted in market by its comfort quotient with the tag line Happy Legs! Even Tata Motor's MUV Sumo Grande which is quite cheap (starting at Rs 5.80 lakh) and very popular in taxi segment for Indian roads will prove as a hard stone for Maruti's contestant.

Looks are nice but the platform of Ritz and this one is same so i think so space problem also in this vehicle also but out looks are to good
