This all-new Mahindra Scorpio’s senior will take on the likes of Tata Aria, popular MPV Toyota Innova and new Tata Safari besides recently launched Force One SUV. Every little detailing in Mahindra XUV 500 gives a sense of great technology and mastery in technical aspects. The first ever monocoque design offered in Mahindra XUV 500 has created a niche for itself with every exterior and interior feature being unique in its definition. The 2.2-litre M-Hawk engine is placed transversally under Mahindra XUV 500’s bonnet unlike other Mahindra cars where the engine is placed horizontally. This diesel engine delivers 140bhp of peak power and to everyone’s surprise churns out 330Nm of torque on wheels. The engine is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. The wheel arches are manly and the crease at waist level is dominating feature adding to the animal look of Mahindra XUV 500. The grille is devoid of chrome and reflects the hunk look from front end which houses projector headlamps, LED day-time running lights, large front bumper with streaked air dam and recessed fog lamps make for a stunning SUV look.

The chassis has been specially tuned to on road and off-road experience. The rear looks amazing with twin exhausts and the large round silencer boxes. The more you gaze at the new Mahindra XUV 500, the more you will admire this piece of technology. The interiors with large double-decker glove box on the dashboard, a goggle holder, lumbar support on front seats with seat backs having netted sections for mags and maps looks dashingly smart. The very sporty steering wheel incorporates two tiny side stalks which provide the base for the multi-function switches for phone and audio volume on the left and cruise control settings on the right. The company has spent aggressively on safety features and loaded Mahindra XUV 500 with ABS, EBD and plus ESP to ensure safety.
