The Mahindra Vision.T SUV concept has broken cover at the Freedom NU event organised by Mahindra this Independence Day. This new SUV concept is a more evolved version of the Mahindra Thar E, which made its global debut in 2023 in South Africa. Just like the Thar E, the Vision.T comes in a 5-door layout, and is based on Mahindra’s new Nu IQ platform. Let’s see how this new concept looks and what if offers:
Vision.T Design

The Mahindra Vision.T has a traditional boxy SUV silhouette, however, it has got new and more production-spec design elements compared to the Thar E concept. It has a flat bonnet and a new six-slat split grille similar to the one seen on the Thar Roxx, giving it an intimidating look. The squared headlights and split vertical LED DRLs definitely makes it look cool. The chunky blacked-out bumper houses an exposed tow hook latch, finished in yellow.

Along the profile, the upright stance and boxy design of the Vision.T is very evident. In fact, the silhouette is very similar to the Thar Roxx, especially the black finish in the rear quarter glass section. It gets chunky wheel arches and features massive offroad tyres, all of which enhances its rugged appeal. The rear door handles have been mounted on the C-pillar, as seen on the Thar Roxx.

In a typical Thar fashion, there’s a tailgate mounted spare wheel, while it also features squared tail lights with vertical LED stripes.

Vision.T Interior

Inside, the Vision.T concept features an upright dashboard with a dual-tone interior theme. It gets a 3-spoke steering wheel with ‘Vision.T’ lettering on the horn-pad. The main highlight of the cabin is its large vertical touchscreen which also has a climate control display. Right beneath that are a set of toggles for controlling important features and functions. Another screen for a fully digital driver’s display has also been placed in front of the steering wheel. A unique touch is the starter button, which is on the steering wheel like some sports cars. The Vision.T is being offered in 5-seater layout.
Vision.T Powertrain
Mahindra hasn’t announced powertrain options for the Vision.T concept. However, it could come with both ICE (internal combustion engine) and EV versions, considering the Nu IQ platform supports multiple powertrains.
Vision.T Rivals

When launched in the future, it will be an all-electric alternative to the Mahindra Thar, Mahindra Thar Roxx, and Force Gurkha.
