Hyundai i20 launched in India
India's largest car exporter and second largest car manufacturer, Hyundai Motors India Limited has been launched its most awaited car, Hyundai i20 in India. There was of course some confusion with the launch of Hyundai i20 – the scheduled launch date of 28th December was surprisingly postponed to the 29th December. Hyundai i20 is a premium hatchback car of Hyundai that is priced between Rs. 4.87 lakh to Rs. 5.89 lakhs.

Hyundai i20 had made its debut in the Paris Motor Show in October 2008. Similar to its predecessor Hyundai i10, the Hyundai i20 will also be manufactured exclusively in Hyundai's Chennai plant and it will use Chennai port to export other countries across the world.
Hyundai has been initially launched Hyundai i20 with a 1197cc Kappa petrol engine which produces 80 PS of maximum power at 5000rpm. and 110 Nm of torque at 4000rpm. Hyundai is also planning to launch the CRDi variant of Hyundai i20 in the month of March/April 2009. The 1.2L Kappa engine of Hyundai i20 make it able to touch the mark of 60Kmph in just 12.9 second. The engine of Hyundai i20 has been tuned for minimum emissions maximum fuel economy.
Hyundai i20 has been launched in India with three variants, Hyundai i20 Magna, i20 Asta, i20 Asta (O). The only difference between Hyundai i20 Asta i20 Asta(O) is that Asta(O) variant comes with side and curtain airbags that is a first for any Indian car in this segment.
