Hyundai Elite i20: Variants, Features & Prices

Hyundai has launched the much-awaited new aka Elite i20 in India at INR 4.89 Lakhs. Built on Hyundai's 'Fluidic Sculpture 2.0' design philosophy, the Elite i20 looks way modern than the previous i-gen model, and compete against the likes of Volkswagen Polo, Maruti Suzuki Swift and recently-launched Fiat Punto EVO. So, here is a variant-wise list, showing what's new been added and old been dropped.

Engine: 1.4-litre Gamma petrol engine discontinued

The i-gen i20 came with three engine options i.e two petrol and one diesel, whereas the Elite i20 now offers only two engine options. The petrol variants comes equipped with a 1.2-litre Kappa VTVT petrol engine, rated at 83 Ps and 115 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. While the diesel trim comes with the same 1.4-litre U2 CRDI diesel mill, that churns out max power of 90 PS and 220 Nm of peak torque, coupled with a 6-speed transmission box.

Variants : Asta (O) discontinued

The Elite i20 gets similar variants to the on-going i20, except a single discontinuation from the previous line-up. While the previous i20 was offered in Era, Magna, Sportz, Sportz (0), Asta and Asta (O), the new aka Elite i20 ditches the Asta(O) and now comes only in Era, Magna, Sportz, Sportz (0) and Asta.

Features :

i20 Elite Era – The base i20 comes with most of the basic features, such as central locking, engine immobiliser, body-coloured bumpers, day and night rear view mirror, rear seat integrated headrest and front power windows.

i20 Elite Magna – This middle variant comes with all the features of the base variant, and additionally offers a foldable key, body-coloured door handles and OVRMs, rear parcel shelf, sunglass holder, front armrest with storage, infotainment system with AUX and USB connectivit, 1 GB internal memory, front and rear speakers, steering-mounted audio controls, rear power windows, rear AC vents.

i20 Elite Sportz – It is slotted between the Magna and the top-end Asta variant. Again, carrying all of the above listed features, the trim also gets ABS, impact sensing auto door unlock, rear defogger, seat belt pretensioners, turn indicators on side-mirrors, leather gear knob and steering wheel, height adjustable driver’s seat, auto up-down and adjustable steering wheel steering.

i20 Elite Sportz (O) – The Sportz optional (O) is an extended version of the Sportz trim, that comes with all features of above variant plus get some additional features such as clutch lock, smart key, chrome garnishing and alloy wheels.

i20 Elite Asta – The top-of-the-line Asta variant, is flooded with features and goodies, which enables i20 to stand ahead of its rivals.
