Hyundai could price the Creta EV from Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom) in India

Hyundai Creta EV spied in South Korea

  • The Creta EV will be based on the facelifted Creta that was just launched in January 2024.

  • Exterior revisions to include a closed-off grille and aerodynamic alloy wheels.

  • To get a new dashboard layout and a light colour for the cabin theme and upholstery.

  • Expected to have features like dual 10.25-inch displays, six airbags and ADAS.

  • Powertrain details not known yet; expected to have a claimed range of over 400 km.

In recent times, there have been a few spy shots of a Hyundai Creta EV doing the rounds in India. Now, a new spy image has surfaced online, showing a camouflaged version of the all-electric Hyundai Creta, based on the India-spec facelift, in its home country of South Korea.

What Can Be Noticed In The Image?

Hyundai Creta EV revised front profile

The latest sighting gives us our clearest view yet at the upcoming Hyundai electric SUV. Although still draped in heavy camouflage, the Creta EV does have some noticeable differences over the standard model, like a closed-off grille along with a tweaked bumper. There’s also a cutout section in the camouflage on the front bumper, suggesting the location of the charging port.

That said, it still has the same double L-shaped LED DRLs as seen on the internal combustion engine (ICE) version of the SUV.

Its profile looks to be largely similar to that of the regular Creta save for the inclusion of a fresh set of 17-inch alloy wheels featuring a more aerodynamic design. While there’s no image of the EV’s rear, expect it to have a similar connected LED taillight setup with a reworked bumper.

Expected Cabin Details And Features

While the spy shot gives no details of the cabin, it does look like the Creta EV will have a light shade for the cabin theme and upholstery. It is also likely to get the standard SUV’s dashboard design including the dual 10.25-inch digital displays (one for infotainment and the other for instrumentation). Other expected equipment includes a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, and dual-zone climate control.

Hyundai is expected to offer it with safety features such as six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a 360-degree camera, and some advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

Expected Electric Powertrain

Although details about the battery pack and electric motor of the Creta EV are not yet known, we believe the Creta EV will likely have a claimed range of over 400 km. It could be offered with multiple battery pack options too, like many other Hyundai EV global models and some of its EV rivals in India.

How Much Would It Cost?

The Hyundai Creta EV is expected to have a starting price of Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). It is expected to go on sale sometime in 2025, squaring off against the MG ZS EV and Tata Curvv EV. The Creta EV will serve as a premium alternative to the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400.
