Honda India has started taking official booking of the company's débutante MPV in the country – the Mobilio. Honda is trying to put chords right with the Mobilio; aggressive marketing campaign and funny trailer films are a hint to that. The current MPV space is dominated by Toyota Innova and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, lets see what difference Mobilio will create when it enters market later this month. when it comes to sheer size, Mobilio is slightly shorter compared to Innova, while it is bigger than Ertiga; if Honda prices it right the vehicle will hit the sweet-spot!

There are many things that set Mobilio apart from its competition some of them are fuel efficiency, Honda's reliability, a 189mm ground clearance and Honda's 'Man Maximum Machine Minimum' philosophy with modest interior space and huge second door for easy ingress-egress in the second and third row.

Honda Mobilio is the most fuel efficient MPV in the country with the fuel economy tag of 24.2 km/l following the legacy of its diesel sibling City and Amaze. Mechanically, Honda is not offering automatic transmission in Mobilio. As of now the vehicle is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission in both diesel and petrol. On the engine front, the diesel draws its power from the all-aluminum 1.5 liter i-DTEC churning out 98bhp and 200Nm of torque while the petrol get City's 1.5 liter i-VTEC producing 117bhp and 145Nm of torque.

Mobilio is also coming in a sporty avatar – Mobilio RS. The RS is sportier looking version of the Mobilio with bumper extension, side skirts, chrome mufflers, roof mounted spoiler and projector headlamps with day-time-running LEDs. The RS version also boasts a dual slat chrome grille and machined alloys. The RS version offers touch screen infotainment system with connectivity options ranging from Bluetooth phone integration, Aux-in, USB, Tuner, CD and offers satellite navigation. The infotainment system also doubles up as the reverse parking camera screen.
