1,400 luxury cars including expensive Jaguar F-Type Coupes, Range rovers, sadly, could be crushed

Whooping £30 million (estimated amount) worth of Jaguar, Land Rover, Porsche and a £260,000 Rolls Royce Wraith salvage from the ill-fated Hoegh Osaka, could be crushed despite minor dents and scratches to their flamboyant paint job.

Nearly three weeks ago on January 3, 2015 Hoegh Osaka was intentionally grounded on Bramble Bank in the Solent, southern coast of England as the ship started capsizing (tilted at 52 degrees). The 1400 luxury that also included Minis apart from Jaguar, Land rover and Porsches were intended for the Middle East.

Damages sustained by the Rolls Royce Wraith is still not known

Authorities are currently examining all the cars that were on-board the capsized Osaka. They are saying a full blown inspection can only be made after each and every car is off the ship, which will take couple of days. And only then final decision can be made that the cars are still roadworthy or not.

Speaking of the individual breakup, there were 1,200 units of Jaguar and Land Rover cars, 65 units of BMW owned Minis and a single unit of Rolls Royce Wraith.

Moreover, in 2006, in a similar recent incident, a cargo ship - MV Cougar Ace was also capsized at 60 degree carrying 4,700 Mazda cars heading to US. All the 4,700 were then ultimately crushed!
