Datsun Go Cross Concept Showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo

Nissan's cost effective wing, Datsun, has taken the wraps off the crossover concept Go Cross. The vehicle is pretty sizable and is styling like nothing before from the manufacturer. The car first came into picture back in Japan at the Tokyo International Motor Show 2015. This concept is based on the manufacturer’s MPV the Go+.

    Datsun Go-Cross

Datsun’s first ever crossover, the Go Cross Concept, has been showcased at the Indian Auto Expo. The car first came into picture back in Japan at the Tokyo International Motor Show 2015. This concept is based on the manufacturer’s MPV the Go+.

Take a look at the concept and you can easily figure out that Datsun had given some serious thinking when it boiled down to the looks of the car. The front gets angular headlamps and large round fog lamp just below them, like those in the pre-facelifted Skoda Yeti. However, since it's a concept, the actual layout is bound to deviate from this one, but still it could retain lot of bits and pieces. For example, the all around black body cladding, the front and rear bumper. The layout and basic structure of the car could remain identical to the concept.

We expect the car’s interior to be as sporty as the exteriors, along with proper features like touchscreen infotainment system, climate control and digital driver information cluster. When launched, the car will be offered with a seven seat option, along with the 5 seater one.

Power will be extracted from the inline 3-cylinder 1.2-litre petrol mill from the GO, but will be tuned to produce more power. On the diesel front, it will be powered by the 1.5-litre dCi motor that is quite popular, as it is used in Renault's Duster.

Prices of the Go Cross can be expected to be in or around the price bracket of INR 7 to 11 lacs, as Datsun is known to price its products handily. And if this price works for buyers, then the Go Cross could tickle segment leaders like Hyundai Creta, Ford EcoSport or the Mahindra TUV300 to some extent.
