Chevrolet Cruze facelift to hit Indian roads by 2012
General Motors had launched Chevrolet Cruze in India in October 2009, the company is rumored to launch the facelift version of Chevrolet Cruze in the Indian car market by next year. GM India has brought the same American Cruze model to Indian shores 2 years back. The only variation was the diesel engine replacing the petrol motor. Despite their apprehensions about its success in the domestic car market, Chevrolet Cruze managed to attract volumes in the D segment cars. The sedan has survived the competition against its rivals such as Skoda Laura, Toyota Corolla and Volkswagen Jetta.

The new Chevrolet Cruze is expected to more or less carry the same looks, but not too minor to go altogether unnoticed. The change in the fog lamps are made to endow a classier look with the prominent Chevy badge screaming loud about its ownership. The car offers a peaceful drive even among the busiest roads in the city. The car interiors are well-designed with two-tone colour scheme. The spacious interiors provide enough room for comfortable seating without compromising on the luggage space as well.
The India bound Chevrolet Cruze is however expected to continue to come with the diesel engine, but with a newer 2.0 L Z-series engine to produce a peak power of 163 Bhp and 350 Nm of peak torque. GM is likely to increase the Chevrolet Cruze price for its upgraded version, which happens in most of the cases. The few other popular Chevrolet models in India are Chevrolet Beat and Chevrolet Spark.
